What To Do With Your Old Office Furniture

Are you in the process of updating your office furniture with pieces that are more modern and in keeping with the image you wish to present for your business but have no idea what to do with your old workstations and chairs? Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do with your old furniture, from throwing it out to selling it.

  • Throw it away: If some of the pieces are broken or damaged beyond repair, it might be best to just throw them away, as no one is going to want to fix them.
  • Recycle it: If the furniture is comprised of materials that can be recycled, you should take them to a local recycling centre and sell them for a small profit (and put them back into circulation).
  • Donate it: If there is nothing wrong with the office furniture, you might like to donate it to a charity store. They can sell it fairly cheaply and help someone in need.
  • Resell it: If the pieces are still in really good condition, you might like to advertise it on eBay or Gumtree to see if you can make some money by selling it second hand.

You could also ask around friends and family to see whether anyone is looking for some new office furniture or pieces that they could use in their own homes; this can be a great way to pass off furniture that is still in good condition but just doesn’t match the image of your business. Really, throwing it away should be a last resort.
